AIA 2020 Design Awards: Conference House Park Pavilion

Conference House Park Pavilion Receives Citation from AIA

As part of the Department of Parks and Recreation’s Design Excellence program, JFK&M and Sage & Coombe Architects were awarded the reconstruction of the Pavilion in Conference House Park, Borough of Staten Island.  While the new venue pays tribute to the original structure built in 1935, taking inspiration from remaining piles, the new design incorporates a modern, open air retreat that takes advantage of its waterfront location. Used for public events, the pavilion both complements the neighboring landmarked Conference House and offers visitors panoramic views of Raritan Bay.

JFK&M worked with the architect providing plans for the electrical infrastructure required, extending from existing service on site to power and light the new facility.  The 4,500-sf pavilion recently received recognition by AIA New York State.  Read more.
