The National Women’s Hall of Fame

Client: The National Women’s Hall of Fame

Architect: CJS Architects

Location: Seneca Falls, NY

Size: 19,500 SF

Date Completed: 2019

The National Women’s Hall of Fame had outgrown its leased space at 76 Fall Street in Seneca Falls. JFK&M provided MEP design services for the Seneca Knitting Mill rehabilitation and addition project, which included the design of the interior fit out of the 16,000 SF mill building, the restoration of the existing limestone masonry, completion of the remaining building envelope design (windows, doors, building insulation, etc.), and the design of the 3,500 SF visitor center addition which is within the existing powerhouse structure footprint. The new facility is named the Center for Great Women – a space that preserves and showcases the stories of the over 250 women pioneers who have been inducted into the Hall; and honors women of the past, present, and the future, celebrating the value of women both nationally and abroad.

The project was separated into two phases. Phase 1 is the 1st floor of the Mill Building. Phase 2 is the addition and fit out of the second, third and fourth floors of the Mill Building.
